Samantha Mohr
Mohr Mohr, a UGA student who suggested her that she enter Miss Columbus 1985. Miss Columbus 1985 pageant, won it. Mohr was then eligible to be a part of the Miss Georgia pageant, which occurred in June 1985. Mohr was the winner of the competition on June 22, 1985. Mohr took home over $3500 in scholarships and other prize money at the state pageant. The activities she took part in as Miss Georgia included appearances in public spots across Georgia. Mohr took part as Miss Georgia at Miss America 1986 in Atlantic City (New Jersey) in September 1985. Mohr was able to determine it was likely that Susan Akin would win Miss America by computer modeling. The odds for his success were 22:1. Mohr didn't make the cut as a top-10 contender to the national crown. Mohr had been Miss Georgia for a total of ten years. This was until Marlesa Bal, her successor in the title was named Miss Georgia 1986, on June 28th, 1986.
